Barn delivery and "Staycation"

The barn came yesterday.  Two guys that were not spring chickens and a big truck.  Leon jumped right up on top of one of the trusses and hooked up the crane and off it all went.  I was impressed to say the least.  If the weather clears up, they should get started next week.  I can't stop smiling, I'm so flippin' excited!  Definitely an improvement from last year's events.

Later that day, my niece and nephew came over with a bunch of their friends to try the wheel.  They are on spring break and Beth and Jennifer wanted to plan a "staycation" for the kids.  They had already been to Skyzone and Lazer Kraze that day, so everyone was kind of worn out (especially the adults!).   I got everyone started on a scraffito project and then took them back one at a time to try out the wheel.  Everyone did a fantastic job!!  As usual, the kids listened and only the adults "struggled."  I think Jenn and Beth were very good sports about it considering all the badgering the kids gave them!

This is my nephew, Hunter.  I didn't get a shot of my niece :(  He won our voting contest at the end, but it was a close vote.  He had hard time working on the small chair and getting his big hands in there.  He's a freshman, but I'm pretty sure he's 6' tall.

This is Alex's friend, Lexi.  She was the most cautious with the clay and did an excellent job.  She's in sixth grade with my niece.

And now for the adults:  they took the most heckling that's for sure.  This is my sister in law, Beth. on her second attempt.

Jennifer reminded me of the book character "Junie B. Jones".  She has about as much energy as a kindergartner and is just as sweet and funny.  She also had to take 2 tries to get her "ashtray" just right.  Notice the tongue!
